Dorinda had a kickoff to open and a great way to open it. Sweet's "Ballroom Blitz" begins with the band called to the stage one name at a time, and she wanted her private group event to start exactly the same way: every participant called by name, a beat of silence for their answer, and "alright fellas" traded for "alright warriors." She brought the idea to ChangeLyric.
What Changed
The changes live almost entirely in the intro. Where the original calls "Are you ready, Steve? aha / Andy? yeah! Mick? ok," the custom version calls each participant in turn and leaves a pause where the song used to answer, so the real person answers instead. The intro loops until the whole group has been called, and then: "Alright, warriors, let's go!"
The rest of the record stays a ballroom blitz, verse for verse and riff for riff. That was the point. The song only has to change where the ritual happens.

How We Made It
Dorinda paid on September 6, 2026, and the finished master went out the very next day. When a song's whole job is to start an event, the deadline is the event, so I cleared the deck for it.
The build centered on the roll call. I extended the intro so it loops through her full list of participants, each call followed by a held beat instead of the original's "aha" and "ok," and I matched the new calls to the original's cadence so the band still swings into the first verse on cue. Then "alright fellas" became "alright warriors," and the kickoff was armed.
No revisions were requested. One full length master went out, and the thing Dorinda loved most, her review says, was the turnaround.
Why It Works
Participation beats performance. A song that calls your name and waits for you to answer makes every person in the room part of the opening number, which is exactly the job of a kickoff.
"Ballroom Blitz" was built for this. Its intro was always a roll call, so the swap is less a rewrite than a recasting, with the group standing in for the band. Group events take to the format naturally, from corporate parody anthems to roll calls like this one.
