When Nick's dog Daisy passed away, he started putting together a tribute video. He found the perfect song — a country ballad called "Best Friend" that tells the entire arc of life with a dog, from the porch swing days to the final goodbye. The only issue was the dog in the song was named Bandit. Nick found ChangeLyric and asked us to make it about Daisy instead.
What Changed
Two words, two instances. "Old Bandit and me" became "old Daisy and me" in the first verse. "Oh Bandit, she's not doing well" became "old Daisy, she's not doing well" in the gut-punch final verse. That is the entire modification — every other word stays exactly as it was.
What makes this swap work so cleanly is that both names are two syllables with the stress on the first. "Ban-dit" and "Dai-sy" have the same rhythmic shape, so the vocal sits perfectly in the mix without any timing adjustments. The singer sounds like he always meant to say Daisy.

“Our dog passed away, and we were making a tribute video. We found the perfect song, but it was for a male dog. We had the dog's name changed to our dog's name and it transitioned perfectly and sounds as if the original artist sung those words. Very impressed and very happy. Highly recommend.”

Pet Memorial Songs
Pet memorial projects are among the most emotionally charged orders we handle. The people sending them in are often in the middle of grief, and the song needs to land perfectly because it is attached to a video or ceremony that will be watched over and over. There is no room for a name that sounds forced or a vocal that drifts off-beat.
A name swap turns a great song about someone else's dog into a tribute to yours. That specificity matters. When Nick plays this video for family and friends, no one hears a generic pet song — they hear Daisy's song.
