He wanted the entire song rewritten as a venture capital parody.

This was not a simple name swap or a few line changes. This was a complete reimagining. Every verse, every chorus, even the famous operatic section needed new lyrics about SaaS, AI, DPI, ARR, IPOs, and the rollercoaster of startup investing. The result is "Point Nine Rhapsody," a track that keeps every ounce of Queen's theatrical energy while telling an entirely new story.

What Changed

The transformation is comprehensive. "Is this the real life" becomes "Is this the real churn." "Mama just killed a man" becomes "Alan, I backed a SaaS." The operatic section that once referenced Scaramouche and Galileo now namechecks OpenAI, AGI, and the fear of missing out on the next big model release.

Christoph provided detailed pronunciation notes to make sure every VC term landed correctly. AI pronounced as the letters A-I. SaaS as one word like "sass." DPI, ARR, and IPO spelled out letter by letter. Even "SaaStastrophe" got a four syllable breakdown. This attention to detail ensured the parody would land perfectly with a room full of investors who know exactly what those acronyms mean.

The Process

A project of this complexity required multiple approaches. The ChangeLyric Overdub engine was not the right fit for this particular song. The structural complexity and vocal range of Bohemian Rhapsody pushes the boundaries of what automated systems can handle. Instead, we took a hybrid approach.

The team recorded pilot vocals to guide the melody and phrasing, then processed those through AI cover generation. The lead vocal was extracted and transformed to match Freddie Mercury's iconic tone using our voice changer technology. For the backing vocals and harmonies, we used inpainting techniques to rebuild the operatic sections with the new lyrics. The result preserves the theatrical grandeur of the original while delivering Christoph's venture capital narrative.

Why Parody Hits Hard at Corporate Events

There is something special about hearing a song everyone knows transformed into a story about your world. When the operatic section starts and instead of "Galileo" you hear "OpenAI," the room lights up. The shared language of venture capital, the inside jokes about down rounds and DPI, the collective anxiety about AGI. It all lands because the vehicle is so familiar.
