Chappell Roan's "Pink Pony Club" was one of the biggest songs of 2024, and Christian had a plan for it. He needed a custom version for his company's all-hands meeting that would get the whole team laughing while celebrating the people who keep the lights on. He brought the project to ChangeLyric and we turned an anthem about West Hollywood nightlife into a tribute to IT operations.
The result is a complete corporate parody that somehow still bangs. Nearly every verse was rewritten from scratch. "I know you wanted me to stay, but I can't ignore the crazy visions of me in L.A." became "I know you wanted me to join, but I can't remember what passcode I should use." The opening verse alone sets the tone perfectly: a world where the drama is not about chasing dreams in Hollywood, but about being stuck in a Zoom waiting room.
What Changed
The rewrites go deep. "Pink Pony Club" became "Strat Ops Club." "West Hollywood" became "RMI all hands." The dreamy escape to Santa Monica was replaced with wicked dreams of leaving "dear old Zoom" for Microsoft Teams. Every chorus swaps "dancing" for "rockin'."
The specifics are what make it land. Internal names and departments get called out: Tavo, John, Cyber, JAWS. The line "Won't make my mama proud, it's gonna cause a scene / She sees her baby girl, I know she's gonna scream" became "Won't make my Tavo proud, it's gonna cause a scene / He hears one more MD, I know he's gonna scream." That kind of surgical substitution is how you build an inside joke that the whole room gets.
The second verse is entirely new. "Lovers in the bathroom and a light outside the door" was replaced with "Cyber and JAWS are on the floor, helped us to the rescue, solutions at our core." The bridge cleverly reverts to Chappell Roan's original lyrics about Tennessee and mama, keeping the emotional heart of the song intact before the final chorus brings it all home.

“It was incredible and exceeded all my expectations! The final result was even better than I had imagined. Will was fantastic at accommodating small requests for changes. I'm extremely happy with how everything turned out!”

Why Corporate Parodies Work So Well
Company events need energy. A slideshow with stock music will not do it. When your team hears a song they already know and love but with lyrics about their own inside jokes and daily frustrations, the reaction is immediate. The familiarity of the melody makes every clever substitution hit harder.
"Pink Pony Club" is a particularly strong choice because its structure repeats the chorus several times, giving the audience multiple chances to lock in on the new words. By the second time they hear "I'm gonna keep on rockin' at the Strat Ops Club," the whole room is singing along. The energy of Chappell Roan's delivery carries over completely.
This project was a rush order, completed in just two business days. Christian went through a round of revisions to nail the specific names and references, and the result was a polished, ready-to-play track for the all-hands stage. That kind of turnaround is typical for our corporate parody projects where timing matters.
