Living Colour's "Cult of Personality" is one of the hardest-hitting rock anthems ever recorded. Jeff came to ChangeLyric with an ambitious plan: turn every word of Corey Glover's legendary vocal into a pharmacy team anthem called "Cult of Hospitality." The result is a nearly full rewrite that keeps the original's energy while celebrating healthcare service.
What Changed
Almost everything. The opening speech shifts from political rhetoric to a team address. The iconic hook "Look in my eyes, what do you see? The cult of personality" becomes "Look in my pharmacy, what do you see? The cult of hospitality." Every chorus, every verse, every bridge was reworked to match the pharmacy theme.
The political references got replaced with industry-specific callouts. "Like Mussolini and Kennedy" became internal team shoutouts. The defiant "You won't have to follow me, only you can set me free" flipped to a collaborative "I hope you will follow me, only we can prevent disease." It takes the song's rebellious attitude and redirects it into professional pride.
The closer is where the parody lands hardest. JFK's famous "Ask not what your country can do for you" becomes "Please ask what your pharmacist can do for you," and FDR's "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself" becomes "Helping people live healthier lives." Those presidential soundbites were baked into the original, so repurposing them for the pharmacy context fits perfectly.

Full Rewrites for Corporate Events
Corporate parodies are some of the most technically demanding projects we take on. A simple name swap replaces a word or two. A full rewrite like this one touches nearly every line while keeping each replacement locked to the original's rhythm and syllable count. The vocal has to sound natural singing completely different words.
The payoff for a corporate team is enormous. Playing a familiar rock anthem at a company event is fun. Playing that same anthem with your team's values, inside jokes, and mission statement woven into the lyrics is something people talk about for years.
