Some pop songs already say exactly what you feel. They are just missing one detail, the name of the person you feel it about. That is what brought this customer to our custom lyric swap service with Ariana Grande's "supernatural," a song about a love so strong it feels like a force of nature.
The goal was simple. Point all of that feeling at one person.
Two kinds of changes made that happen. First, the opening of two intimate lines now calls out the name JZ. Second, every chorus line "This love's possessing me" became "Your love's possessing me."
The song stops describing a feeling in the abstract and starts singing directly to a specific person.
What Changed
"Just need you right here" became "JZ, need you right here." "Need your hands all up on my body" became "JZ, your hands all up on my body." And every "This love's possessing me, but I don't mind at all" became "Your love's possessing me, but I don't mind at all," including the echoed background lines in parentheses.
Seven lines changed in total, and everything else in the lyric sheet stays exactly as originally written.
The customer also asked us to exclude any interlude or skit sections from the track. The delivered version keeps only the sung sections, so the song moves straight through its verses and choruses with nothing extra in between.

How We Made It
Will produced this one in Overdub, running it in overdub mode to capture all of the replacement vocal takes. He then comped the strongest moments of those takes into a single performance and finished with reverb and volume matching so the new lines sit in the mix as if they were always there.
The most interesting move was the blend in the climaxes. Where the new vocal sang the exact same words as the original but with a slightly different tone, he used sidechain ducking on the original vocal.
In plain English, whenever the new vocal sings, the original vocal automatically dips to about half volume underneath it. You still hear traces of the original oohs and ad-libs poking through, which preserves the layered texture of the climax.
The moment the new line ends, the original vocal returns to full volume, so the seam between old and new disappears.
The order came in on August 10 and the finished files were delivered the next day, roughly 28 hours later. That delivery included the instrumental, the isolated vocals, and the master in both WAV and MP3. No revisions were needed, and the customer accepted the delivery that same evening.
Why It Works
This project shows how few words it takes to change who a song is about. The name JZ lands at the two most vulnerable moments of the song, right where the listener is leaning in. The shift from "this love" to "your love" then quietly turns every chorus into a direct address, so the whole track feels aimed at one person.
The blend technique matters here too. Because the climaxes still carry traces of the original vocal under the new lines, the track keeps the breathless, stacked feel of Ariana's recording. Nothing sounds lifted or replaced.
