Journey's "Lights" points its whole chorus at one place: "When the lights go down in the city / And the sun shines on the bay." Noreen came to ChangeLyric wanting that line to land on a name instead of a place. The bay became Rumi, and nothing else in the song moved.
What Changed
Every chorus hook now reads "And the sun shines on Rumi." The swap lands three times: once in the opening chorus, and twice in the back-to-back choruses that close the song out. That is the entire modification.
Notice which "bay" stayed. The verse line "I wanna get back to my city by the bay" is untouched. Only the hook line, the one the sun lands on, was changed.
The rest of Steve Perry's vocal rides exactly as Journey recorded it.
"Bay" is a single open syllable. "Rumi" is two. Noreen's order note pointed at the way through: draw the name out to keep the flow and cadence of the song.
Sung long, "Rumayyy" holds the same vowel Perry stretches on "bay," so the new word fills the note instead of fighting it.

How We Made It
The job opened with a question. Before cutting any audio, I asked Noreen to confirm how "Rumi" is pronounced, noting that I would default to "roo-mee" unless she said otherwise. I built the first version on that default and delivered it.
Her reply came within the hour, with an apology for missing the earlier email. The first version already sounded great, she said, but she wanted to hear the name stretched the way the word it replaced is: "Rumay," drawn out to "Rumayyy" like "Bay."
I turned the revised master around the same day she asked for it, and she accepted it within the hour. From payment to final acceptance, including one revision, the whole job took two days.
Why It Works
A one-word name swap has nowhere to hide. Every instrument, every ad-lib, and the full original vocal stay in place, so the changed word either belongs or it doesn't. Draw the new name across the same vowel the old word held, and the chorus lands on Rumi the way it always landed on the bay.
